Ask your AI assistant about your IT inventory

Connect BlueTally to your AI assistant to find available equipment, check employee assignments, and prepare for audits. Get answers from your BlueTally records in plain English, with read-only access to your inventory.

Connect your assistant to BlueTally

BlueTally MCP Server gives your AI assistant read-only access to your IT inventory. MCP stands for Model Context Protocol: a standard for connecting AI tools to external data. Ask a question, and your assistant can retrieve the relevant records from BlueTally.

Find answers to everyday IT questions

Check equipment availability, prepare for an employee departure, or review audit records without exporting a spreadsheet.

Equipment and assignments

  • Which Dell laptops are currently unassigned?
  • What's checked out to jane@company.com?
  • Show me the history of asset BT-1042.

Audits, licenses, and purchasing

  • Which assets haven't been audited in the last 12 months?
  • How many Adobe license seats are assigned and how many are available?
  • Summarize laptop purchases by manufacturer over the past year.

Work with the records you already maintain

Retrieve assets, employees, software licenses, accessories, consumables, components, audits, maintenance, and activity history. Locations, departments, statuses, products, manufacturers, and suppliers provide context for your questions.

When you use BlueTally integrations such as Intune, Jamf, or an identity provider, the assistant reads the records those integrations update in BlueTally. Answers reflect the data available in your account.

Keep control of your inventory

The MCP Server is read-only. Assistants can retrieve and summarize records, but cannot create, edit, delete, or check out assets through this connection. BlueTally remains your system of record for assignments and asset lifecycle management.

Access is scoped to your BlueTally company. You can revoke it by rotating or deleting the API key used for the connection.
